INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION

The Valais is a Swiss canton whose official languages are French and German.

In winter, you can enjoy many snow sports such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledging, dog sledding... For this, the Dents du Midi region or Saas-Fee offer many alternatives for a holiday with the family or friends. Afterwards, why not end your day in one of the thermal baths in the region?

In summer, there are many walking and cycling routes. For example, Crans-Montana has many ponds such as the Etang de la Moubra. There is also the Lac d'Arbey in Evolène and the Grotte aux fées in Saint-Maurice.

Take advantage of your stay in the Valais to visit the cultural heritage of the region, such as the Stockalper Castle in Brig for example. Saint-Maurice is also a real religious refuge.

Like all mountain regions, the Valais is dominated by snow and cold in winter, while in summer you can fill up on vitamin D thanks to the dominant sunshine.

Specialities of the region include asparagus au gratin, the traditional Valais apricot tart and raclette.
