WINTER ADVENTURE IN SAAS-FEE/SAASTAL - KEEP ON EXPLORING!

Those who like a challenge will love a winter holiday in the resort of Saas-Fee/Saastal. This sun-drenched Alpine holiday region in the canton of Valais is surrounded by 18 peaks over 4000 metres. This unique landscape of mountains and glaciers offers a breathtaking panorama and is full of exceptional adventure opportunities such as :

Between 3,600 and 1,500 metres above sea level, snow is guaranteed in the ski areas of the Saas-Fee/Saastal region! The 150 kilometres of blue, red, black and yellow slopes are pure skiing pleasure in the middle of an impressive scenery... A unique skiing experience!

From the upper station of Längfluh, hikers make their own tracks through the powder snow to Panoramaplatz. Equipped with snowshoes, ski poles and a climbing harness, they rope up with a mountain guide before descending through a labyrinth of monumental ice blocks and crevasses to the Spielboden station.

This tour is as impressive in summer as it is in winter! The hike takes 4-5 hours.

Watching the sunrise at an altitude of 3,500 metres

Absolute silence, glistening snow and perfectly groomed slopes await early risers who want to make their first tracks on the ski slopes. After a hearty breakfast in the world's highest revolving restaurant, experience the magical moment of sunrise at 3,500m*. The surrounding peaks are bathed in the pastel colours of the new day and offer an unforgettable spectacle. * (Accessible by ski lift from Saas-Fee)

When the ski slopes of Hohsaas are gradually emptying, it's time to put on your snowshoes and set off for the Lagginjoch. Accompanied by a mountain guide, the hike leads over easy terrain above the Hohlaub glacier, 500m from the Lagginjoch. With the last rays of the sun, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding 4,000m high peaks and a deep view of the Laggintal valley. In the splendid evening atmosphere, you walk back to Hohsaas, where the cable car awaits you and you enjoy a well-deserved cheese fondue.

The via ferrata, Gorge Alpine from Saas-Fee to Saas-Grund, is a must for anyone looking for adventure in the cold season. Accompanied by a mountain guide, you will cross the wild and jagged Fee Gorge. This spectacular trip takes you over frozen waterfalls, suspension bridges, ladders and steel cables. The highlights of the crossing are a fast zip line and a pendulum walk.

Exciting activities for young and old

The Saas-Fee/Saastal holiday region also has a lot to offer active and adventurous families: go tobogganing at night under the starry sky or follow in the footsteps of the legendary priest Johann Josef Imseng, who was a host, mountain guide, botanist - and hunter - and left his mark on the region through his work to promote tourism and combat poverty. The Kian adventure park in the Furggstalden ski area above Saas-Almagell is a paradise for young skiers. The children's slalom, the mini-skidoo and a free snowtubing track guarantee lots of fun.

The bathing and wellness world offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the slopes. Aqua Allalin offers various saunas and baths, sensory showers, relaxation rooms, a 25-metre indoor pool, a paddling pool and a water slide, all with a magnificent view of the mountains. The perfect place to relax.

Choose your challenge! Keep on exploring!
