INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION

Located on the border between the German-speaking and French-speaking regions of Switzerland, the canton of Bern is the second largest canton in Switzerland after Graubünden. The official languages are French or English.

This region is dominated by numerous lakes as well as by numerous reliefs, notably the Jura. For example, in Interlaken, you can go paragliding, rafting or skating on the Top of Europe Ice Magic.

The canton also has numerous lakes such as Thun and Brienz and nature parks such as Diemtigtal. Berne is therefore ideal for walking and cycling. It offers unique panoramas such as the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The Junfrau region has a number of beautiful and different villages: Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Haslital, Hasliberg and Grimselwelt.

If you are a skier, you should visit Adelboden Lenk Kandersteg. This region is known worldwide as the 2nd best ski area.

During your stay in the canton of Bern, you can enjoy the delicious rabbit liver puff pastry with Bernese potatoes.
